More Than A Baby in a Manger

Have you ever felt an emptiness at Christmas time? Some times it's because someone special is missing. Perhaps you have moved far from family and friends or maybe you have lost a loved one recently and the Christmas spirit has been replaced by a broken heart. Often though, that empty feeling at Christmas is a reminder that a very special someone is missing...baby Jesus has been crowded out and been replaced by a lot of empty "stuff". Life is a lot like that too. So often we sense a void in our life as we rush from one urgent issue to the next. God has created each one of us with a God sized hole in our hearts that only he can fill. We can spend our whole life trying to fill that void with "stuff" but the emptiness remains. Only a relationship with God the Father will ever truly fulfill us. That's why he sent his Son to be born at Christmas and to take our place on the cross--so that we could reconnect with God through faith in Jesus Christ.

John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

My hope and prayer this Christmas is that you will discover even more than a baby in the manger. I hope that you will start a close relationship with God through faith in his Son!
